Malta-based startup Scheduit promises
to revolutionise business networking at summer tech conference.

This is Malta way

The free web-based app is the only networking tool on the market using machine-learning to measure compatibility, helping users set meetings with the right matches without leaving it to chance.

Don’t bother printing your glossy business cards for this summer’s EnterConf. Startup Scheduit promises to revolutionise business networking through its unique matchmaking app.

The free web-based app is the only networking tool on the market using machine-learning to measure compatibility, helping users set meetings with the right matches without leaving it to chance.

“Scheduit was created to help companies get the most out of their business travel ventures by pre-scheduling meetings with the right people before interacting with them in person and EnterConf is the ideal place to put it to practice. We can’t wait to jet off to Belfast to join the rest of the techies at this year’s EnterConf, share our product with other participants and receive their feedback,” said Scheduit CEO & Founder Abdalla Kablan.

Scheduit makes networking more efficient because you know your meeting will be fruitful.

“We have worked on the principles of reverse social networking, that is, allowing people to connect online before meeting to interact offline. This is the future of how people meet. We are here to help companies, businesses, startups and young professionals expand their horizons and create profitable relationships, instead of connecting you with people already in your network,” he added.

Scheduit uses your work-related data to help you match with other professionals who have similar work interests and are available at the same time and place.

This information was previously borrowed from LinkedIn, but the startup had to revise its entire matchmaking algorithm to overcome LinkedIn’s decision to limit third-party developers’ access to its API from May 12.

Scheduit’s sign-up process now asks the user to input data relating to his/her skills, interests and field of work, instead of automatically using public profile information from LinkedIn.

“We had to revise the entire matchmaking algorithm since the amount of data we could analyse through LinkedIn was very limited for our app to work effectively. We redesigned the sign-up process to a more interactive one, giving the user more control.

“Basically, this was a big-data problem. We restructured our back-end to store, filter and process data more efficiently, giving the user a more engaging, but quicker experience. In hindsight, LinkedIn’s decision was a blessing in disguise,” said Kablan.

Scheduit is the only networking tool on the market using machine-learning to measure compatibility and previously required information from LinkedIn for it to work effectively. The startup will be one of 5,000 techies and enterprise startups from around the word to participate in EnterConf. The conference will take place on June 18-19 at the T13 HUB in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
