HOW TO FIND AN INTERNATIONAL JOB ABROAD
and in MALTA in particular

Orientation for an international job and your Work experience abroad for a European and International Curriculum

The future is yours, take it in your hand … Job skills work out!

It is often argued that the education system in Italy and Europe ends up not building specialization and continues to keep distance from the world of work, offering paths that are too long that lead young pupils to enter the world of work with an extreme delay compared to pupils coming from the various countries of Europe or the world.

Often the problem is that the students do not know what they want to do and are not able to build their own future.

The need to link the study to the practical and direct experience is becoming more and more compelling and the recent inclusion in the schools of school-work alternation is proof of this, but young people are often not able to value their own talents and to open a path for the future.

It is time to move to give our children a better future and it is time for young people who want to build a future to find out lost enthusiasm to do so.

The least advanced school systems for some years have been called to deal with the new socio-economic context, not only Italian but international, to offer students “skills that can be used in the world of work”.

What does the new labor market require?

It requires quality skills that cannot stop at the in-depth study of literary and scientific subjects but must have contextualized learning, direct relationships between knowledge and direct and practical experience, involvement, adaptation to the changing technological and social contexts.

The experience of mobility and of work abroad, enriches the cultural and experiential baggage of the boys also in anticipation of the future insertion in the labor market through the extension of practical training in a different context than the national one and with the use of the English language.

Students get in touch with the culture and traditions of a different country as well as being outside the family environment, knowing how to adapt to the habits and behavior of other people undoubtedly lead to developing individual and relational skills that are strongly demanded in the current labor markets

Furthermore, the study and intensive practice of English, including specialized language, is certainly an additional qualifying skill in the student’s study path. Experience abroad offers a truly high-level educational opportunity that can become distinctive in the curriculum of young people.

In order to respond to the growing demand from young people, eager to increase their skills in English to enter a wider job market with a distinctive curriculum and to offer an orientation service to the professional world, also combining the challenging try to get in touch with a foreign reality outside the comfort area, we have planned 3 projects in Malta or Ireland

Malta and Ireland are an even more attractive solution because in the face of a process linked to Brexit it will become more burdensome both economically and for compliance, with additional costs for health cover and residence permits, visa etc., representing a more straightforward solution from a regulatory point of view, than choosing a destination such as UK

HOW TO FIND AN INTERNATIONAL JOB ABROAD

HOW TO FIND AN INTERNATIONAL JOB in MALTA

Apart from what above described, here are some precise directions and tips for finding a job in Malta

Linguistic knowledge:

good knowledge of English is needed, at higher levels for qualified jobs. If you do not know English Malta can be a good starting point to learn it. In Malta English is the official language, it is easy to attend international communities and there are many qualified schools where to attend English courses at much cheaper costs than in England.

Find yourself on the spot

For jobs in the tourism and hotel sector or in the shops it is advisable to be on the spot and to visit the main towns such as Sliema, Valletta, Bugibba among the hotels, restaurants, shops before the start of the tourist season, which goes from March to October, or visit job search sites in local newspapers and the internet. The hourly wages offered are not high (between 4-5 euro base) even if in Malta the cost of living is on average lower than in Italy, particularly in northern Italy, but you can also use the work experience for improving English.

Good curriculum in English

For more qualified jobs you need a good curriculum in English and pay attention to the grammar and spelling to not immediately give a bad impression. Get help with writing in English if you are not so sure in the language to avoid mistakes. If, on average, the Maltese do not speak refined English, it must instead take into consideration that local professionals have often studied in England and know English perfectly with an Oxford accent and many companies are international with people from different countries with native English or almost English.

Before the interview

As already said before, prepare to hold an interview in a foreign language trying to make a presentation of themselves and the experiences made in relation to the specific job position sought. If it is a direct interview with the company do not go without information about it.

Jobs in the IT, finance and gaming sectors are highly sought after in Malta
